Spontaneous Trip to Niagara On The Lake

A few days back, my mom told me about the Lavender Festival and how we could see it here in Toronto but unfortunately the festival had already happened. However while I was researching the information for the Lavender Festival, I stumble upon a website advertising the Peach Festival that was occurring on the weekend so we quickly decided to do a spontaneous family road trip to Niagara On The Lake to purchase some delicious fruits and visit Neob Lavender Fields to see if we could get some pictures as well.

Unfortunately I had a driving lesson in the morning so we were late to arrive at the Peach Festival in Niagara On The Lake.

After walking around the Main Street and purchasing some delicious fruit jams from Greaves, we left Niagara On The Lake to a place called Neob Lavender where they grow a couple acres of lavender. Unfortunately due to the ice storm that occurred this past winter, many lavender plants were killed therefore we were unable to see a fully grown lavender field.

After a 15 minute tour by a very nice tour guide named Rob, we left the farm and before we left the area, we purchased some fruits and vegetables from a farm vendor.

(You could see I was pretty happy with our purchases)

We were pretty hungry after our adventure and drove back to Niagara Falls where we had dinner at the Boston Pizza.

(Here's me trying to be a dinosaur)

And a couple of pictures of the food we had. I didn't want to post them all because we just got the normal pastas and chicken wings but this Seafood Fettucine was absolutely delicious.

Oh and we also got one HUGE slice of Chocolate Explosion. It had a decadent brownie cake crust with chocolate mousse with nuts and cheesecake throughout the cake. OMG IT WAS SO DELICIOUS AND I LOVE IT.

After that super filling dinner, we decided to walk around Niagara Falls and then we discovered that there was going to be fireworks so we stayed behind and watched the beautiful 6 minute fireworks display. As we were waiting for the fireworks to start, we all got matching neon leather bracelets because Mom wanted one after she saw that I got one last time and then Dad got one too and then I got one too so I wasn't left out. Also Mom finally got something that has her own name on it!

And the drive home was HORRIBLE. We were stuck in a super huge traffic jam for at least two hours and managed to only cover 7 km of ground. We found out there was construction and the normally three lane highway was minimized into one lane. However during the traffic jam I got to see a large amount of people parked on the side sleeping because they were too tired. That was surely an experience of a lifetime.

Hope you also enjoyed this post and thanks Dad for taking these awesome pictures!
