Hurray! Tomorrow, there will be an assembly so that we will get to unveil the touchstone out to the ENTIRE school. I am so excited about this assembly because I am part of the team that help create this touchstone.
A touchstone was used for mining and for to see if people were counterfeit in the olden days. The touchstone is made out of slate and the miners would strike the piece of ore on the touchstone to see if it was copper, silver, gold... In the olden days, it was used to see if the gold or silver coins were made out of pure silver or pure gold. If we put it into our perspective, the touchstone means to check our true values, beliefs of our own school. This is the true meaning of our touchstone... isn't it a powerful metaphor?
How about the colder? When will you submit to school? I can help to ask other 'experts'. Florence
ReplyDeleteThe cooler is due next Tuesday. It is nearly finish but I still need to make a bag to hold it! Samantha
