My Poem....

My mom told me to post my poem for my language assignment. I love doing poetry because it makes me think and to realise the deeper meaning of the poem. For this assignment, we had to put our feelings of being a Canadian and what does it mean to be a Canadian. I hope that you will like my poem and also, feel free to comment and give suggestions to my poem. It is called "I live in a country called Canada..."

I live in a country called Canada.
A place where we can live in freedom.
To be able to live in our own kingdom.
To believe in our own beliefs,
To help others who needs relief.

I live in a country called Canada.
In our hearts, it's in a special place.
Even though we are of different race,
No one is different from each other,
We all respect one another.

I live in a country called Canada.
Our famous maple syrup.
Our Mounties stepping on their stirrups.
Our maple leaf fly.
Our soldiers dead make people cry.

I live in a country called Canada.
It's not just a rag,
It's our own flag.
It's a symbol for all Canadians,
That separates us from the Americans.

I live in a country called Canada.
I love Freedom.
I love Peace.
I love our country,
Canada...

I hoped that you will be able to understand my feelings for Canada and also the real meaning of this poem. It took me hours to think of such short poem but I hope that it has powerful message.
